Child labor is a huge problem
Over 168 MILLION children across the world are forced into child labor.
What is child labor?
But Child labor is a problem in many countries. Child labor is when children in many different countries are forced into arduous work for 5-11 hours a day just to pay off a family debt or because they were sold into it. This needs to end. Child labor happens in many different countries all over the world. The website, https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ilab/resources/reports/child-labor/eritrea, states that, "The Government does not make law enforcement data publicly available and national laws and regulations do not identify hazardous occupations or activities prohibited for children."* This shows child labor is a huge issue because the quote is saying that the government does not have regulations that identify dangerous activities for children. But why wouldn't the government want the information to be public? This is because the conditions are too poor and the government does not want people to know about this.
